Addison Emma

I went into labor on my due date, Tuesday October 7. I had contractions all night on monday and they progressively got stronger throughout Tuesday morning. My mom took me into the doctor and he told me I was in labor but still in the early stages so to go home and rest and then come back later that afternoon. By 2:00 I couldn't stand the contractions anymore so I went back in and he told me to get my husband and go to the hospital. Matt rushed home and we frantically drove to the hospital. Holy Cow! Contractions hurt like heck! I was seriously going to cry. Anyway we got checked in and I got the epidural within a half hour and felt great. I actually kind of loved labor. It was such a rewarding and fulfilling experience. We had our baby girl at 11:10 pm!! She was such a joy to bring into this world. I love her more than I can even express. She is in the NICU for the time being. Sometime during my pregnancy she had a bowel movement and swallowed it and so her lungs are coated with machoneum. It's a tar-like substance that is sticky and hard to get rid of. She is on oxygen to help her breathing and on antibiotics to get rid of the infection. All of the nurses say she was definately born a fighter and that she'll recover soon. We don't really have a time frame as to when she'll be home but we're hoping by next weekend. It's been very emotional and hard not to have our little girl with us. We know that she's being looked after by good doctors and nurses and feel blessed for that. Please keep her in your prayers that she'll be strong and recover soon! Thanks to everyone for your support and love. It's much appreciated.

I am so glad that Addison is going to be ok. It is not easy to have a baby to take home with you, I couldn't take Taylen home with me either. Hang in there, you are in our prayers

Hey Tar,
I know I have said this already, but you guys are still in our prayers. I am not surprised that the nurse said Addison came out a fighter...just look at her very determined mother :) You are such a good example and are an amazing mom! Way to be Matt!! What a good faithful husband! Hope to hear she is home with you soon.

It was so crazy cuz on Tuesday I was walking along campus, and you popped into my mind. So I texted you to tell you you better let me know if you go into labor. Well, as I was texting you, my phone said I had a new text. So I hurried and sent the text to you, and lo and behold, you had sent me a text that very same moment saying you were in labor. I was a titch surprised by the timing, to say the least.
Anyway, please let me know when you and Addison and Matt are feeling up to a visit cuz Chels and I want to see you guys.

Tara - This is Tiffany "son" Congrats on your little girl. I know how scary it is to have your little baby in the NICU. Ethan, my little boy, was taken to the NICU our second night because he stopped breathing and went blue. We were scared to death - but things worked out and trust they do. It was a miracle that it worked out the way that it did because they tested him for acid reflux and we were able to monitor that alot easier. It is amazing how fast the mommy skills come into play. Good luck with everything and always know that there is always someone watching out for you and your family. Take care.
