Thursday was one of the happiest days for Matt and I. For so long it seemed like Addi was never going to be able to come home with us. The doctors kept telling us "one more week" and then a week would come and it would be the same response. This week they told us she just needed to gain weight consistently and she would be able to come home. On sunday we decided to put her on a high calorie formula to see if she would gain the weight she needed. Matt and I slept over at the hospital last week so I could feed her around the clock and not have to drive back and forth in the middle of the night. Wednesday night after her bath we weighed her and she had gained weight!! We were stoked! Thursday morning the doctor confirmed that she could go home and she was discharged that day. It was such a high finally being able to leave the hospital with her! As we were driving away I told Matt that I felt like we were escaping from prison and we should hide from the cops. I can't even explain how wonderful it was to ride in the backseat with her next to me. I hope I never have to step foot in that hospital again (Although I've gotten to know the nurses so well that I feel like I might miss them now). Wow, I just feel so extremely blessed to have her in our own home now. She is like my little best girlfriend. Yesterday we painted our nails together and tonight we'll paint our toenails. I love holding her and watching her while she sleeps. Matt is such a fantastic father. He really is a natural. I can tell he's already wrapped around her little finger. Poor guy, I think she's pretty high maintenance. :) Anyway, I am going to finally post some pictures of her from birth til now.
Aw look at the little ball! 6 lbs 15 oz

They handed her to me and I only got a couple pictures with her then they hauled her off to the NICU.

The tube in her mouth is her feeding tube that went down to her tummy so she could get nutrients.

Obviously this was halloween. We never thought she would still be there but at least we got to dress her up a little bit.

So I was trying to get some smiley photos of her to send out to people but she was really fussy... but I think she looks cute when she's mad :)

There's a smile

This was yesterday at home!
